At SMUMC we're always looking for new ways to connect with the community - like having a bake sale during the First Friday's Festivals! There's still time to pitch in and help out! We will be accepting donations of home baked "bar style" cookies (like brownies, lemon squares, 7 layer bars, hermits - that type of thing) this Thursday at the church from 10 am - 1 pm. Please bring them uncut so we can cut and package them for sale. We'd also love to have you "man the booth" with us! The festival runs from 4:30 - 7:30. Contact Mary Andrews-Roberts for more info on volunteering! See you Friday!!
Greetings Friends! The Marble Street construction project has begun. Throughout we can expect road closures and detours. Please give yourself a few extra minutes when attending church activities - which will all continue as scheduled! When the work is finished we will be blessed with new water and sewer pipes, a freshly paved road, and new curbs & sidewalks! A welcome facelift for us and the community!!
Easter Sunday 5:45 AM - Redemption, restoration, and revitalization will be celebrated in a Sunrise Service, outdoors on the grounds of Noel’s Nursery, located at 77 Tully Road in Orange, MA. 10:45 AM - A family service, featuring the Hallelujah Chorus performed by the Starrett Memorial UMC and St. John’s Episcopal Choirs under the direction of Rene’ Lake-Gagliardi, in the sanctuary at 40 Island Street in Athol. Please join us at one - or both - of these services!
Good Friday - 7:00 pm. The trial and crucifixion will be remembered on Good Friday, with a worship service and music provided by the choir, recalling the greatest sacrifice made for man followed by time for self-reflection, meditation, and renewal. All are welcome - please join us.
Maundy Thursday - 6:30 In commemoration of the Lord’s Supper the Methodist tradition of “open table” communion will be offered to anyone who has heart for Jesus. A light meal of soup and bread will follow the service. All are welcome.
We are entering a week of celebrating the holy mysteries at the heart of the Christian faith. This is what our faith is all about! The service that everyone attends is Easter morning, and that is right and good - Easter joy is for all the world! But to know that joy more truly, we invite you to delve deeper and experience more through the worship and fellowship activities offered during Holy Week. All are welcome - we look forward to seeing you!

Wow!! Let’s give a big AMEN for the powerful and moving voice of Allison Pollitt! What an incredible way to start the day. Allison and Rene’ Lake-Gagliardi performed this song, “Jesus, Thank You” and a toe tapping, feel it in your soul song called “This World is Not My Home” (that I’m sorry I didn’t record - it was so good)! Thanks so much, Allison! Come back and sing for us soon!!
